Pastor Bracken currently serves as the Fire Chief for the city of Reidsville and is active in the Reidsville community—volunteering to serve on various boards and with many civic organizations.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Reidsville Kiwanis Club, the Reidsville Ministerial Alliance, the National Baptist Congress and Convention U.S.A., Inc., and the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Inc. He is the former Moderator of the Rowan Baptist Association and was the recipient of the Reidsville Branch NAACP 2008-2009 Humanitarian Award.

In May of 1997, Pastor Bracken accepted his call to the ministry and in November of 1997, he was licensed to preach by Zion Baptist Church in Reidsville, North Carolina.  He was ordained in November 1998 by the Rowan Baptist Association. He served as interim pastor of Zion Baptist Church, and in 2001, Pastor Bracken was called to pastor Jerusalem Baptist Church in Spencer, North Carolina. Under his leadership, a new sanctuary was built and the old church sanctuary was converted into a functional fellowship hall. He established the first JBC Tutorial Program and created a computer lab by securing grant funding.

Pastor Bracken is the son of Gladys Bracken and James and the late Ada Bracken of Reidsville, North Carolina. He is married to the former Jacqueline Louise Blackwell.  They have two children, son Paul and daughter Charryse Jones, and one grandson, Titus.

Pastor Bracken refers to himself as “a plain man who loves the Lord”. He finds comfort and strength in Psalm 23, which simply and clearly expresses “the role of God as our protector and provider in life”. Pastor Bracken has a love for God, love for people, and a willingness to serve.

October 6th, 7th and 8th

The Reverend Dr. William L. Lee has served with great pride and joy as the Pastor of Loudon Avenue Christian Church for 37 years—one of the cutting edge churches in America!

Lee serves a member of the Board of Trustees of Lexington Theological Seminary, the Black Endowment Fund of the Christian Church and the Greenwood Cemetery, Nashville, Tenn.  Lee also serves on the Duke Divinity School’s Board of Visitors. He is the Director of the African American Clergy Leadership Development Program.

William Lee is the second child of the late Leon and Thelma Lee of Nuttsville, Virginia and is married to the former Dana Barnes for 41 years. They are the proud parents of two adult children, Aaron Michael (wife Nina) and Sarah Barnes Williams (husband Marcus).

Lee received his Bachelors of Science degree in Special Education from Virginia State University with honors (Cum Laude) in 1974, his Masters of Divinity from the Divinity School at Duke University in 1978, and his Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in June 2009.

Lee served as Moderator of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada from 2005-2007. The Roanoke City Council named the Rev. Dr. William L Lee as the citizen of the year for 2011.

Praise and worship was conducted by various ministers and their congregations from the Roanoke Valley. Also, each night, we promoted increased awareness of chronic diseases that affect our community. We wore pink (Breast Cancer) on Tuesday night; wore of purple (Domestic Violence) on Wednesday night; and wore of red (Heart Disease) on Thursday night.

We continue to give all the glory, honor, and praise to our Lord and Savior who made this revival ‘come together’ in a manner that honors Him!
